Very bad. Originally, the song is sung to try to encourage the prince to kiss the Little Mermaid, who has given her voice to the sea witch and therefore can't talk to him, and the only way she can get her voice back is if he kisses her. This is bad enough, but it at least makes a tiny bit more sense than the new pop video version, which just becomes horrible, as you describe.
